Milan

Our train ride through the Alps was as picturesque as we'd expected.

Somewhere in the mountains

Lugano

Although it wasn't a big shock to find ourselves rolling into Milan's central train station about 15mins late.

We spent two days wandering the city and shopping. Apart from some pretty buildings and learning a little of the town's history, one of the best things about being in this place is the people-watching.

Milan's Duomo (cathedral)

Piazza del Duomo - square outside the cathedral

Vittorio Emmanuele arcade

Navigli area

The police were particularly amusing.

Unfortunately the rates for internet access from our hotel room were exhorbitant (starting at 8 Euro for 10mins), which is why I didn't get to post this while we were there.
